Lionel Messi join hands with PSG on two-year contract

Lionel Messi will receive £25 million per year at Paris Saint Germain.

Former FC Barcelona player Lionel Messi has agreed to join French club Paris Saint-Germain on a two-year deal. After a lot of speculations regarding the future of the Argentine, the Ligue 1 giants have managed to get onboard one of the greatest footballers of all time.

Lionel Messi will be joining Paris Saint Germain on a two-year contract with an option to extend by a year as well. He is set to receive £25 million per year as wages from PSG. This amount is an after-tax deduction.

Moreover, Messi will also be receiving £25 million as a signing bonus. After spending 21 years at Camp Nou, Lionel Messi will be seen wearing another club’s jersey. In the press conference, which was conducted on Sunday, Messi revealed that he wanted to stay in Barcelona, but due to ‘financial obstacles’, the deal wasn’t possible.

However Messi also acknowledged rumours linking him to PSG, he also revealed how he was in contact with a lot of clubs. The popular transfer window spokesman Fabrizio Romano has confirmed the news with his signature ‘Here we go!’

When he was asked about his transfer to PSG, he said, “That is one possibility, to reach those heights.

“I had a lot of calls, a lot of interested clubs. At the moment, nothing is closed, but we are talking about a lot of things.”

Lionel Messi will now be reunited with his friend and former FC Barcelona player Neymar Jr. After such a successful transfer window with Achraf Hakimi, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Lionel Messi- PSG are very much the favourites to lift the UEFA Champions League.
