FC Barcelona (FCB), the iconic LALIGA club, have joined forces with Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), an American multinational information technology company in a groundbreaking partnership.
This four-year deal has named HPE the official Espai Barça edge-to-cloud partner.
The partnership aims to completely revamp the spectator experience at the club’s upcoming Spotify Camp Nou stadium.
HPE will leverage its industry-leading technology solutions to create a world-class technological environment at the new Camp Nou. This includes implementing HPE Aruba Networking, which will deliver a secure, high-speed wireless network throughout the complex. Additionally, the HPE GreenLake cloud will provide a powerful platform for real-time data analytics, enabling the personalisation of the fan experience.
Juli Guiu, Vice-President of Marketing at FC Barcelona, expressed his enthusiasm, “The partnership with HPE is a step towards creating a digitally connected and secure environment for Espai Barça. Their extensive experience in connectivity and cloud technologies means we will be able to offer our members, fans and supporters personalised experiences, thus significantly improving their interaction with the club on match days at Spotify Camp Nou, as well as in the different activities that will be organised at the future ground.”
Alfredo Yepez, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Latin America and Southern Europe, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, said, “Technology is integral to the growth and global expansion of sports, as well as to accelerating innovation. HPE is delighted to serve as the Official Edge-to-Cloud Partner of one of the world’s leading football clubs to enhance its visitor and fan experience, providing state-of-the-art technology for Espai Barça and the iconic Spotify Camp Nou.”
This partnership is expected to enhance the experience for the Barcelonistes visiting Espai Barça significantly. Azulgranas can anticipate benefits such as faster and more reliable internet access, personalised content and services, streamlined concession ordering and merchandise purchases, and real-time access to game statistics and updates.
The Blaugrana are dedicated to transforming their home ground into a modern marvel, boasting the latest amenities for its supporters. Recent partnerships with Fortinet, a leader in comprehensive cybersecurity solutions, TK Elevator for mobility solutions and EHEIM Möbel for seating exemplify this commitment. By prioritising fan comfort, embracing cutting-edge technology, and fostering strategic collaborations, the club strives to create a world-class stadium experience and solidify its position as a global leader in sports entertainment.
Barça and HPE’s partnership signifies a groundbreaking commitment to pushing the boundaries of fan engagement in the sporting world.
