The Indian broadcasting baron, Viacom18 has acquired media rights for the upcoming Asian Cup 2023, the biggest and second-oldest continental football championship.
Following the agreement, the primary association football competition will be broadcast on Sports18 and streamed live on JioCinema.
The 18th edition of the quadrennial international football tournament is set to begin on January 12, with the home team and defending champions Qatar taking on Lebanon.
The Asian Cup will unite teams and individuals, from Sunil Chhetri to Almoez Ali to Son Heung-min, from all over Asia in a massive battle royale with the shared objective of proclaiming the Asian title.
India, which is placed in Group B, will begin their campaign on January 13 against the 2015 champions Australia at the Ahmad bin Ali Stadium in Al Rayyan. On January 18 and 23, respectively, the team will play Uzbekistan and Syria.
