IPL 2023 CSK vs MI: Match preview, head-to-head and streaming details

The two teams met 35 times, with MI and CSK winning 20 and 15 games, respectively.

In the 49th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, two heavyweights of the cash-rich league, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) will square off against each other at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai tomorrow i.e. Saturday, May 6 at 3:30 PM IST.

MI are on a winning streak, whereas the four-time IPL winners are searching for a victory after dropping two of their previous three games.

The MS Dhoni-led side and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) held hands to share a single point as it continued to rain in Lucknow. Nevertheless, the team is now preparing for a significant challenge in the form of MI, their bitter rivals. Regarding individual performances, Ajinkya Rahane, who is currently scoring with a strike rate of 189.83 in the present IPL 2023, and opener Devon Conway are both in outstanding form. Conway, meanwhile, is presently third in the IPL Orange Cap race having amassed 414 runs over ten matches. In the bowling department, Maheesh Theekshana and Matheesa Pathirana have handled the ball brilliantly, thus far. Deepak Chahar has also made a comeback but wasn’t sufficiently successful in the last match. Tushar Deshpande, on the other hand, is one of the tournament’s top wicket-takers but he is also conceding a lot of runs. Therefore, the captain cool will need to handle matters well as the tournament comes to its final stages.

To avoid suffering a second straight loss to CSK, the five-time IPL winners will be aiming for a convincing victory away from home. MI were having trouble in the early games but came back strongly, winning their last two games against Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Punjab Kings (PBKS). Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav‘s return to form is wonderful news for them. However, Rohit Sharma‘s form is a major worry for the management. Nevertheless, the batting unit is still performing effectively right now as even Tim David is contributing excellently towards the backend of the innings. The bowlers, on the other hand, are conceding a lot of runs right now. Piyush Chawla is the only bowler who has been impressive so far, while Jofra Archer has looked pallid.

Renowned as the ‘El Clasico’ of the IPL, it’s always a high-octane battle when these two sides compete in the IPL, and it won’t be anything different tomorrow afternoon.
