India tour of South Africa 2023–24 1st T20I: Match preview, head-to-head and streaming details

In 20-over format, India and South Africa have faced each other 24 times, with India prevailing in 13 and South Africa winning 10 games.

In the first T20I of the three-match bilateral series, India will take on South Africa at the Kingsmead Cricket Ground in Durban today, December 10, at 7:30 PM IST.

With the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 just around the corner, every game leading up to it will be an important one for the Indian side. With Shubman Gill back in the squad for the three-match series, most likely he will open the innings with Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ishan Kishan might bat at three. The likes of Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, and Rinku Singh will be the probable choices in the middle order, with Ravindra Jadeja, Deepak Chahar, Mukesh Kumar, and Mohammed Siraj being the best options with the ball.

For the home team, Aiden Markram will lead the side, with the team also relying heavily on Reeza Hendricks, Tristian Stubbs, and David Miller. SA also faced a shocker as Lungi Ngidi was ruled out due to injury. The bowling lineup, which includes Tristan Stubbs, Andile Phehlukwayo, Tabraiz Shamsi, and co. will also aim to keep the Indian batters out of touch. Given the strength Indian batters possess, the Protea bowlers might have a difficult outing but on home conditions, nothing can be judged.
