FanCode extends exclusive Lanka Premier League rights for three years

Cricket enthusiasts across India can catch the action live on the FanCode mobile app, FanCode TV app, and the FanCode website.

The Indian sports streaming giant, FanCode signed a three-year exclusive digital rights renewal to the Lanka Premier League (LPL) in India.

This move has strengthened FanCode’s position as a one-stop shop for cricket fans, offering a comprehensive cricket experience with both domestic and international tournaments.

The agreement kicks off with the upcoming LPL season, scheduled for July 1 to July 21, 2024. Cricket enthusiasts across India can catch the action live on the FanCode mobile app, FanCode TV app, and the FanCode website.

Speaking about the development, Prasana Krishnan, Co-founder of FanCode, said, “We are excited to expand our cricket portfolio with the addition of the Lanka Premier League. The LPL has captivated India’s passionate cricket audience with thrilling action and memorable moments. It also provides fans an opportunity to see Sri Lanka’s top domestic talent and future stars in action.”

This three-year deal underscores FanCode’s commitment to providing Indian audiences unparalleled access to premium cricket leagues.

FanCode currently boasts the streaming rights to global T20 leagues like The Hundred, Caribbean Premier League (CPL), Super Smash, and the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). Domestic tournaments like the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL), Andhra Premier League (APL), Maharaja Trophy, and recent broadcasts of the Bengal Pro T20 League and Sher-E-Punjab T20 League further solidify its comprehensive cricket coverage.

This year’s LPL features five teams: Colombo Strikers, Dambulla Sixers (formerly known as Dambulla Aura), Galle Marvels (formerly known as Galle Titans), Jaffna Kings, and Kandy Falcons (formerly known as B-Love Kandy). Matches will be played across Dambulla, Kandy, Galle, Jaffna, and Colombo.

Recently, the Indian sports broadcasting baron, Star Sports, extended its television media rights to the upcoming season of the Sri Lankan T20 competition.

In the inaugural match of the new season, the defending champion Kandy will take on the runner’s up Dambulla on July 1 at 7:30 PM IST.
