The World Championship of Legends (WCL), a prestigious T20 cricket tournament featuring legendary players from around the globe, has secured Star Sports, the leading Indian sports broadcaster, as its official broadcast partner.

The WCL, endorsed by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), will be broadcast live on Star Sports channels and FanCode in India. This adds to an already impressive roster of broadcasters like Willow by Cricbuzz (North America), Cricbuzz (MENA Region), SuperSport (Sub-Saharan Africa), TNT Sports (UK), and Fox Sports (Australia).

Expressing his enthusiasm, Harshit Tomar, owner of the World Championship of Legends, stated, “We are excited to provide fans with the chance to see cricket legends in action once again. With our global broadcasting partners, we can reach a wide audience and celebrate the spirit of cricket worldwide. Partnering with Star Sports will bring WCL to a broad audience in Asia, ensuring top-notch coverage of this historic event.”

The WCL unfolds at the iconic Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham, UK, starting July 3, 2024. Six teams will battle it out for the championship title: India Champions, Australia Champions, Pakistan Champions, England Champions, South Africa Champions, and West Indies Champions.

Adding to the excitement, India’s second-largest travel company, EaseMyTrip, has signed on as the presenting partner for the WCL.

Star Sports, owned by Disney Star, is a dominant force in Indian sports broadcasting. The channel’s network offers extensive coverage of domestic and international sporting events, with cricket being a particular focus. The sports network holds the rights to the Indian Premier League (IPL) and ICC tournaments.
