Eurosport India was awarded the PayTV broadcast rights for the Indian market by Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL), who also owns the media rights to all Asian Football Confederation (AFC) competitions in the Indian subcontinent region until 2024.
India will host the 20th edition of Asia’s premier women’s football tournament between January 20 and February 6. The AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2022 will be held in three venues across India. A total of 12 teams have been divided into three groups that will fight for the prestigious title. India is in Group A, alongside China PR, Chinese Taipei, and IR Iran.
The tournament will begin in a round-robin format, with each team facing the other three teams in their group for a spot in the quarter-finals, which will be held on January 30, 2022. The semi-finals and finals will be held on February 3 and February 6 respectively. Moreover, the tournament will serve as the final phase of Asian qualification for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023.
