AFA announces partnership with American Express

In this development, American Express has been named the official card for the Argentina's men’s senior, women’s senior and youth national teams.

The Argentine Football Association (AFA) has announced a new sponsorship deal with the international credit card provider, American Express.

In this development, the brand has been named the official card for the men’s senior, women’s senior and youth national teams.

The agreement will endure until 2026, which is the same year that the US, Mexico, and Canada will host the FIFA World Cup 2026 and the senior men’s team will attempt to defend the championship they won in Qatar in December 2022.

Claudio Tapia, President of the AFA, said, “We are happy and proud to add a company like American Express to the projects of National Teams. After several years of growing in our sponsorship platform, it is important to continue adding the support of companies of this level. The results of the positioning of the AFA brand in different global markets are visible. We thank American Express for the trust and work done to achieve this great agreement. It will undoubtedly be a successful partnership for both.”

American Express will assist the senior men’s, senior women’s, and junior teams across their national and international responsibilities, as well as provide cardholders with certain special advantages.

Members with an American Express Card registered in the Americas will get first access to tickets and premium seating for all Argentina national games held in the country. Other perks include select meet-and-greets with players, training session visits, and entrance into signed product giveaways.

Henry Seeber, President, and General Manager of American Express, Argentina, said, “This new sponsorship allows us to bring Card Members closer to the sports they love and connect with one their passions, Argentine Football. We continue to find ways to provide great access and experiences for Card Members, making sports better when you’re with American Express.”

American Express serves as the AFA’s newest sponsor this year as it looks to capitalize on the fan following of the world champions. The AFA had also inked partnerships with Xiaomi India and the currency broker, XTrend.
