SailGP strikes 10-year renewal with Rolex

When SailGP first began in 2018, Rolex partnered as a presenting partner.

An international sailing competition, SailGP has announced a new sponsorship extension with the Swiss watchmaker, Rolex. With this new record-breaking ten-season collaboration, the renowned company will continue to serve as the tournament’s only official timepiece through the end of season 13.

When SailGP first began in 2018, Rolex partnered as a presenting partner. This May, SailGP will finish its third season, which set a record, before kicking off an enlarged fourth season in June. The two companies’ close alignment is highlighted by this cooperation as the sporting event maintains its rapid expansion.

In accordance with the contract, Rolex will serve as the title partner for the Rolex United States Sail Grand Prix in Chicago at Navy Pier, which will kick off Season 4 on June 16, 2023.

In addition, Rolex will keep its role as the presenting partner of SailGP’s ground-breaking docuseries Racing on the Edge, which takes viewers behind the scenes of the world championship to examine the highs and lows of the top professional athletes in their quest for excellence. Since its premiere, more than 2.1 million people have watched every episode of Racing on the Edge, now in its second season.

SailGP, CEO, Russell Coutts, said, “SailGP is only in our third season and this long-term partnership shows the value we are continuing to create for our partners. Rolex has been an integral part of the success of our championship from the outset and we are honored to continue this exciting journey together.”

Rolex, Director of Communication & Image Arnaud Boetsch, said, “Rolex has long supported those who go above and beyond to drive innovation and positive change. The Swiss brand’s involvement with yachting stretches back 65 years, during which time it has forged deep-rooted connections with elite organizations and individuals at the forefront of the sport. The unrelenting pursuit of excellence, together with the marriage of human achievement and technical development, as well as the fierce team spirit required to succeed, make Rolex a natural partner of SailGP.”
