The deal between Nissan Canada and Cricket Canada encompasses both the national men's and women's teams.

Nissan, a Japanese multinational automobile manufacturer, has announced a new partnership with Cricket Canada, the governing body for cricket in the country.

The deal has unveiled Nissan Canada as the official automotive partner of Cricket Canada, encompassing both the national men’s and women’s teams.

This strategic alliance unites Nissan Canada’s brand recognition and marketing expertise with Cricket Canada’s commitment to growing cricket’s popularity across Canada. The automobile manufacturer aims to leverage the partnership to strengthen the connection between fans and the sport, while Cricket Canada sees it as a step towards a thriving domestic cricket scene.

As a key supporter, the automaker’s branding will be prominently displayed on the back of both national team jerseys, ensuring high visibility throughout matches.

Ken Hearn, Director of Marketing for Nissan Canada, said, “Nissan has been proud supporters of Cricket on a global level for many years, and we’re thrilled to expand the wonderful relationship with Cricket Canada and our National Teams. We look forward to cheering on Team Canada as we take on the world’s top Cricket teams at the ICC World Cup this summer.”

Amjad Bajwa, President of Cricket Canada, said, “Nissan is about innovation, accuracy and performance – similar to world-class cricket. We are delighted to welcome Nissan Canada as our partner, an iconic brand with a longstanding connection to cricket. With Nissan’s logo proudly adorning the backs of our National Team players as they make their mark on the global stage, we are confident that together, we will drive Canadian cricket to new heights of success and visibility.”

This partnership marks Cricket Canada’s latest effort to develop the sport. The organisation has recently secured alliances with TD Bank Group, O’Neills Sportswear, Foundation Physiotherapy & Wellness, and Coca-Cola.

Nissan Canada is the Canadian branch of Nissan, a globally recognised automaker headquartered in Yokohama, Japan. Nissan is renowned for popular models like the Magnite SUV and its dedication to technological innovation. The company is a part of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance, a leading force in the global automotive industry.

Canada’s cricket journey took a historic leap with their inaugural participation in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. Their opening match against the USA kicks off the tournament on June 1.
