Kroger appoints Cincinnati Bengals star Joe Burrow as brand ambassador

Last year, Kroger donated $343 million to its communities, including $199 million in food and funding for hunger assistance.

Cincinnati Bengals’ quarterback Joe Burrow has been appointed as Kroger’s new brand ambassador to promote healthcare programs.

Burrow has already become the National Football League (NFL) team’s most popular sportsman after guiding the Bengals to the Super Bowl in only his second year with the franchise.

On his association with the group, Burrow commented, “As an athlete, I know the value of good nutrition and a healthy lifestyle,” Burrow said in a news release.

I am honored to work together with Kroger to encourage families to make changes in their daily lives that can lead to healthier lifestyles, while also increasing access to nutritious foods for underserved communities.”

According to Kroger officials, Burrow’s goal matches the company’s “Zero Hunger | Zero Waste social and environmental impact” initiative, which aims to eliminate food poverty and waste in the areas it serves by 2025.

The Kroger Company, or simply Kroger, is an American retail company that operates supermarkets and multi-department stores throughout the United States.

Last year, Kroger donated $343 million to its communities, including $199 million in food and funding for hunger assistance. Employees salvaged 94 million pounds of extra food from company-operated facilities, amounting to approximately 500 million meals.

Colleen Lindholz, Kroger Health President said in a press release, “At Kroger, our purpose is to Feed the Human Spirit and our vision is to help people live healthier lives.

“With Joe’s commitment to ending hunger in his home area of southeast Ohio, this is a natural collaboration for us and will help to improve the health and wellness of thousands in our communities. Together we can continue our shared commitment to promote and support healthier lifestyles.”
