KIA continues as Surrey County Cricket Club’s headline sponsor for five more years

According to the extension, KIA continues to partner with the Surrey County Cricket Club and its home stadium, Kennington Oval.

The English cricket county club, Surrey County Cricket Club has announced a partnership extension with the South Korean automobile company, KIA for the next five years.

According to the extension, KIA continues to partner with Surrey and its home stadium, Kennington Oval, which will continue to be known as KIA Oval.

Through this renewal, to raise brand recognition among a worldwide audience, the KIA logo will be prominently displayed outside the stadium, on Surrey men’s and women’s jerseys, and throughout the Club’s digital platforms.

The South Korean brand has agreed to sponsor the club’s four 150-foot floodlights as part of the collaboration, and the company will replace its halogen bulbs with energy-efficient LED lights in the upcoming years. By replacing the current halogen lights, it is anticipated that energy consumption will be reduced by about 40% and carbon emissions by roughly 168 tonnes.

Furthermore, KIA will still be heavily involved in the T20 events held at the stadium, including as the wildly popular ” KIA Catch,” in which spectators may win £1,000 by cleanly catching a six that is hit into the stands. At certain important games, guests will also get the opportunity to get a close-up look at the newest KIA automobiles, which include the brand’s growing lineup of all-electric models.

Paul Philpott, President and CEO of KIA UK, commented, “I am thrilled to be able to announce that Kia UK will be continuing this long-standing partnership that began almost 14 years ago with Surrey CCC. The partnership between Kia and Surrey CCC has been mutually beneficial for many years. Whether it’s the collaboration we share with club and its fans, or the light the sponsorship has shone on our award-winning vehicles to 27,500 pitch side spectators, plus many more remote viewers. We look forward to working closely with the club in the years to come, pursuing new goals based on our shared values.”

Steve Elworthy MBE, Chief Executive Officer at Surrey CCC, stated, “It’s always been important for us to partner with a company that respects our Club’s rich heritage, the game of cricket, and the health of the world around us. Having a partner that champions the importance of sustainability will help drive the Club towards our ambitious target of reaching Net Zero by 2030. With common goals and strong links to Surrey, Kia has been a fantastic partner over the last 14 years, and we look forward to continuing our journey together.”

Alec Stewart, Director of Cricket at Surrey CCC, remarked, “Since 2010, the partnership has been a great success for both Kia and Surrey. Their continued support is crucial as we continue to strive towards winning trophies, and we are proud to be extending the deal for a further five years.”
