IPL 2024 MI vs LSG: Match preview, head-to-head and streaming details

In the head-to-head contest, the two teams have played each other five times, with LSG winning four and MI just winning one.

In the 67th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024Mumbai Indians (MI) will take on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai tonight, i.e., May 17 at 7:30 PM IST.

MI are bottom in the rankings with eight points, however, they would like to finish the season with a win. According to sources, Rohit Sharma will be competing in his last game for the five-time IPL champions, and what better place to do it than at home, at the historic Wankhede Stadium. The side also saw a successful outing from Ishan Kishan in the last game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and will aim to continue tonight. The Indian lot of middle-order batters such as Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, and Nehal Wadhera have been decent but not consistent. Throughout the season, Tilak Varma has shown excellent quality and will hope to wrap up well in a similar manner. Veteran Piyush Chawla has been quite effective with the ball and has proven himself yet again as a strong candidate for another season. Nuwan Thushara has been outstanding, while Jasprit Bumrah has also been lethal as well.

For LSG, it’s a must-win game, as they would want to end their season with 14 points, thus giving themselves an outside opportunity to qualify for the playoffs. Nonetheless, the win has to be a gigantic one, which doesn’t seem much possible. The Super Giants fans saw a glimpse of Quinton de Kock‘s fiery start but surely would want to see more. Skipper KL Rahul, who also might be playing his last game for LSG, needs a long inning to make people believe in him again. Nicholas Pooran and Marcus Stoinis have also played a massive role in the middle overs, while Ayush Badoni has highlighted some unorthodox hitting. Arshad Khan has been the find of the season as he smacked a fifty in the last match against LSG. With the ball, Ravi Bishnoi and Naveen-ul-Haq couldn’t showcase their magic but Mohsin Khan has been quite effective.

Head-to-Head:

In the head-to-head contest, the two teams have played each other five times, with LSG winning four and MI just winning one. In their last outing earlier this season, LSG won the battle by four wickets.
