In a country where cricket has dominated the sporting ecosystem, there are only a few other sports that have managed to stand apart and it’s safe to say that basketball is one of them. Basketball, in India, has been majorly looked upon as a recreational activity but is moving towards being a more organized sport which could be played on professional grounds, courtesy of the Indian National Basketball League (INBL). The open-entry off-development basketball competition was founded in 2021 and organized by the Basketball Federation of India and also recognized by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA).
