In a country where cricket has dominated the sporting ecosystem, there are only a few other sports that have managed to stand apart and it’s safe to say that basketball is one of them. Basketball, in India, has been majorly looked upon as a recreational activity but is moving towards being a more organized sport which could be played on professional grounds, courtesy of the Indian National Basketball League (INBL). The open-entry off-development basketball competition was founded in 2021 and organized by the Basketball Federation of India and also recognized by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA).
SportsMint Media conducted an exclusive interview with Mr Parveen Batish, CEO of the Indian National Basketball League (INBL), who is responsible for the profound advancement of the basketball league. In this detailed interaction, Mr Parveen expanded on the competition’s business model, the sport’s marketing assets, instituting school and college programs and much more.
