Coca-Cola extends longstanding pact with Special Olympics

Since its founding in 1968, Coca-Cola has been a cornerstone supporter of Special Olympics, sharing the organization's mission of empowerment through sports.

The Coca-Cola Company, an American multinational corporation, and Special Olympics International, the world’s leading organization for athletes with intellectual disabilities, have announced a historic eight-year extension of their global partnership.

This renewal has marked the longest in the program’s history, solidifying the cola giant’s commitment to Special Olympics through 2031.

Since its founding in 1968, the Atlanta-based beverage company has been a cornerstone supporter of international sporting events for athletes with intellectual disabilities, sharing the organization’s mission of empowerment through sports.

Commenting on the historic partnership, Mary Davis, Chief Executive Officer of Special Olympics, said, “We are honored and grateful to continue our long-standing partnership with Coca-Cola to create an inclusive world for everyone. The Special Olympics World Games, the largest inclusive sporting event globally, takes place every two years, alternating between summer and winter editions. The upcoming editions will see the Winter Games 2025 held in Turin, Italy, followed by the Summer Games 2027 in Santiago, Chile.
