PGA TOUR extends collaboration with Coca-Cola until 2027

PGA TOUR will keep working together with Coca-Cola to offer the Charity Showcase in conjunction with TOUR Championship Media Day.

The PGA TOUR has announced a partnership renewal with the carbonated soft drink brand, Coca-Cola, as a proud partner until 2027.

Furthermore, Coca-Cola will also serve as the PGA TOUR’s official soft drink owing to this new five-year official marketing partnership that the global beverage company has struck with the organisation.

Brian Oliver, PGA TOUR Executive Vice President, Corporate Partnerships, said, “The PGA TOUR is delighted to continue our partnership with The Coca-Cola Company, which has played a crucial role in the growth of the TOUR Championship and how we impact the tournament’s proud Atlanta home. We look forward to building upon our relationship with Coke as the Official Soft Drink of the PGA TOUR as we proudly serve their products at many of our tournaments and TPC properties, and work with them to utilize golf as a platform to create meaningful change in its community in Metro Atlanta and beyond.”

From August 23 to 27, 2023 the TOUR Championship will be held at Atlanta’s storied East Lake Golf Club to determine the FedExCup champion for the year. Coca-Cola has been a supporter of the TOUR Championship since 2002; from that year until 2015, it served as the competition’s presenting sponsor. The TOUR Championship has donated more than $48 million to charity overall, including a record $5.5 million donation from the 2022 event.

John Murphy, President and Chief Financial Officer, Coca-Cola, commented, “We’re proud to continue our support of the TOUR Championship and its positive impact on our hometown Atlanta community. For more than two decades, Coca-Cola, the PGA TOUR and fellow corporate partners have proudly built upon the legacy of East Lake Foundation founder, Tom Cousins.”

The TOUR Championship Charity Challenge was created in 2020 and played over a three-year period in order to generate additional funds for the East Lake Foundation and the TOUR Championship’s other charitable partners during the covid-19 pandemic. Coca-Cola played a key role in its conception.

TOUR Championship also saw renowned famous athletes join forces with PGA TOUR professionals, First Tee – Metro Atlanta participants, and HBCU student-athletes with the purpose of giving back to the Atlanta community via an exclusive presentation. The 2022 TOUR Championship Charity Challenge raised more than $1.3 million in addition to the tournament’s record-breaking $5.5 million donation.

In 2023, as well as thereafter, the championship will keep working together with Coca-Cola to offer the Charity Showcase in conjunction with TOUR Championship Media Day.

TOUR Championship, Executive Director, Alex Urban, said, “Coca-Cola is a brand that is synonymous with Atlanta, and to have had them associated with the TOUR Championship for more than two decades has significantly elevated the tournament’s stature within Atlanta’s sports landscape. With their continued support as a Proud Partner, it opens the door to new and exciting opportunities for us to continue building the reputation of this event while ensuring our impact in the local community remains a priority.”
