X swings for a hole-in-one with PGA Tour partnership; Blackstone putts in too

The collaboration with X is aimed to bring fans closer to the action by providing real-time highlights, while Blackstone will serve as the "official griddle" of the PGA Tour.

The social network company, X (formerly Twitter), has announced a strategic partnership with the PGA Tour, the leading organiser of professional golf tournaments in the United States and North America.

This collaboration is aimed to bring fans closer to the action by providing real-time highlights and a wider variety of video content directly on the X platform.

The partnership benefits X users by granting them direct access to the PGA Tour’s extensive video library. This eliminates the need to leave the platform to stay up-to-date on the latest PGA Tour events and players.

Additionally, X will curate a broader range of video content to cater to the diverse interests of golf enthusiasts, ensuring there’s something for everyone.

X CEO Linda Yaccarino officially announced the partnership via a post on the social media platform itself

This collaboration reflects a broader trend in the sports media landscape, where technology companies like X are playing an increasingly important role in content delivery. As traditional cable subscriptions continue to decline, platforms like X are emerging as a viable alternative for consuming sports content.

The full scope of the partnership remains undisclosed, extending beyond just real-time highlights and video content. However, the announcement hints at the potential for future innovation, offering fans even more engaging ways to experience the PGA Tour.

Further solidifying its presence in the golfing world, Blackstone Products, a leading manufacturer of outdoor cooking equipment, has also secured a multi-year agreement with the PGA Tour.

This deal designates Blackstone as the “official griddle” of both the PGA Tour and PGA Tour Champions, extending through the 2028 season.

The strategic partnership offers Blackstone significant marketing opportunities. The company will collaborate with the PGA Tour to create engaging content, build relationships with prominent golfers, and activate its brand presence at tournaments held across the United States. By leveraging this partnership, Blackstone aims to solidify its position as a leader in the outdoor cooking industry and capitalise on the growing popularity of grilling among enthusiasts.

Roger Dahle, Founder and CEO of Blackstone Products, said, “We’re extremely proud to be the Official Griddle of the PGA TOUR. This partnership marks the beginning of an exciting new journey, merging our love for the game with our passion for outdoor cooking. This partnership celebrates our shared values of excellence, innovation and bringing people together.”

Brian Oliver, PGA TOUR Executive Vice President, Corporate Partnerships, said, “We are thrilled to introduce Blackstone’s elevated outdoor cooking experience to PGA TOUR fans as part of this exciting new partnership. Whether for the grilling novice or culinary expert, Blackstone offers a range of products that fit the needs of any home chef. It’s exciting to have another rising consumer-based company join our family of partners, bringing a new level of engagement potential with our players and fans.”

X, formerly known as Twitter, is a major social media platform where users can share short messages and interact with others. Originally known for its 140-character limit (now increased to 280 characters), tweets can include text, images, and videos.

Blackstone offers a comprehensive range of outdoor cooking products, with a specialisation in griddles. The company’s griddles come in various sizes, from portable table-top options to large backyard setups. The entity also provides additional accessories like griddle presses, spatulas, and covers, along with a dedicated recipe section to inspire users for its next cookout.
