Unilever appoints Vinicius Jr as brand ambassador

Vini Jr. will join Unilever's "Dirt is Good" subsidiary in an effort to motivate people to take on challenges and live life to the fullest.

Unilever, a global leader in consumer goods, has announced Real Madrid and Brazil star Vinicius Junior as its new brand ambassador.

Vini Jr. will join Unilever’s “Dirt is Good” subsidiary in an effort to motivate people to take on challenges and live life to the fullest by encouraging them to get ‘stuck in’ to their laundry just as they would on the football pitch. As part of the agreement, the Brazilian superstar will participate in a number of advertisements over the next months.

The company’s new goal will be heavily reliant on its year-long collaboration with the Brazilian superstar.

Tati Lindenberg, Vice President of Marketing at Dirt Is Good, said, “Our brand new era, Play On, champions the values of sport to unleash human potential, personal growth and resilience whilst celebrating the stains gained through a game well played – this is why I am thrilled to welcome Vini Jr as an ambassador for the OMO brand and into the Dirt Is Good family – particularly in our 20th anniversary year. Vini Jr embraces all the grime and the glory in sport – viewing getting dirty as a mark of success along the way. I can’t wait to see our plans for this partnership come to life. Welcome Vini! And of course, boa sorte for Copa America.”

Vinicius’ commercial portfolio has grown alongside his on-field achievements. The Brazilian winger just won his second LALIGA and UEFA Champions League titles in 2023-24, and with the support of Jay-Z’s RocNation sports agency, his fame has expanded off the pitch.

Vini Jr., who was already one of several sportsmen signed by Pepsi, also inked a big sponsorship deal with Gatorade and will be featured in advertisements to commemorate the agreement.

Vinicius has joined Unilever’s roster of brand ambassadors, which includes Arsenal‘s Bukayo Saka, who is featured in the inaugural campaign of the laundry brand’s collaborative activation with the Premier League (PL) team.

On the deal, Vinicius Jr said, “I am honoured to become a Dirt Is Good ambassador and work with an organisation that shares so many values that are close to my heart. My own pathway into professional football was full of challenges on and off the pitch. These helped shape me as an individual, and I was not afraid to get dirty in the process. Through this partnership, I hope I can inspire the next generation to do what it takes to thrive in the face of adversity and demonstrate fearless resilience in pursuit of their goals.”
