The Australian pace bowler, Mitchell Starc has become the most expensive buy in the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction history as Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) bought him for a humongous INR 24.75 crore.
With this, Pat Cummins‘ record as the most expensive player in IPL history lasted about an hour, as the same record is now owned by the 33-year-old Starc.
Just as the name was announced, there was a buzz in the Coca-Cola Arena as everyone knew that some definitive action was about to take place. The bidding started with a classic Mumbai Indians (MI) and Delhi Capitals (DC) bidding war which got shut straightaway around INR 10 crore with KKR‘s (KKR) inclusion. Along with the Knight Riders, Gujarat Titans (GT) entered the battle and both fought fiercely and steadily until the SRK-owned franchise got the pacer for a record INR 24.75 crore.
