UCI announces landmark four-year partnership with BigMat

This collaboration sees BigMat serve as the official partner for a series of prestigious UCI World Championship events.

The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), cycling’s international governing body, has announced a significant four-year partnership with BigMat, a leading European distributor of building materials.

This collaboration sees BigMat serve as the official partner for a series of prestigious UCI World Championship events, culminating in its role as a key partner for the highly anticipated UCI Cycling World Championships 2027.

This agreement, commencing in 2024, encompasses a total of seven UCI World Championships. BigMat’s support begins with the 2024 UCI Road World Championships in Switzerland, including the Para-cycling Road World Championships. This commitment extends to the 2025 and 2026 editions of the UCI Road World Championships held in Rwanda and Canada, respectively. The partnership includes the 2024 UCI Track World Championships in Denmark, the 2025 UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships in France, and the 2026 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships in Italy.

A key highlight of the partnership is BigMat’s role as the first-announced commercial partner for the 2027 Cycling World Championships. This marquee event, staged in Haute-Savoie, France, brings together various World Championship disciplines for an unforgettable twelve days of competition.

UCI President, David Lappartient, said, “After its investment as Official Partner of the inaugural UCI Cycling World Championships held in Glasgow and across Scotland in 2023, BigMat is strengthening its support for cycling by becoming Official Partner not only of the second UCI Cycling World Championships, in 2027, but also of six other UCI World Championships between 2024 and 2026. This extension and broadening of our partnership bears witness to the success of the UCI World Championships, which combine the various disciplines of our sport, and to the growing appeal of our major events. I look forward to strengthening our collaboration with BigMat, which will contribute to our work to promote elite cycling and cycling as an activity that leads to a healthier life.”

BigMat International President, Fabrice Maud, said, “We are extremely honoured to become an Official Partner of several leading UCI World Championships. This partnership will enable BigMat to play a key role in the development and promotion of cycling worldwide, both as a competitive sport and as an activity that contributes to a healthy lifestyle. Cycling also embodies values such as effort, perseverance, respect for the environment and innovation, values that we share at BigMat. Until 2027, BigMat and the world cycling’s governing body will work hand in hand to provide exceptional cycling experiences, support international cycling events and encourage greater participation at all levels of the sport. This strategic partnership represents a unique opportunity for BigMat to partner with a prestigious organisation and contribute to the future of cycling.

BigMat’s involvement in cycling dates back to the mid-1990s with its sponsorship of the World Cycling Federation teams. This continued support of the sport, including past World Championship events in France, demonstrates the entity’s unwavering dedication. This strategic collaboration between the cycling’s world governing body and BigMat promises to elevate the upcoming World Championship events and propel cycling even further onto the global stage.
