The Major League Cricket (MLC) team, Seattle Orcas have inked a sponsorship agreement with GMR Sports, the sports division of GMR Group.
As part of the collaboration, the entity has been named the team’s principal sponsor for the upcoming season of MLC and its logo will be displayed on the left sleeve of the shirt.
The announcement of the news was made by the Seattle-based team through its social media handles, with the caption, “GMR is proud to be the principal partner of the Seattle Orcas in #MajorLeagueCricket 🏏 🙌. Get ready for an epic season! 🔥”
GMR Sports, the sports arm of the GMR Group, was created in 2008 to use sports to build community relationships. GMR Sports aims to inspire young people to participate in sports, build a grassroots link to the community, and foster a supportive atmosphere. In the past, the brand has also sponsored Delhi Capitals and Dubai Capitals.
Seattle Orcas have also developed a partnership with Veeam Software, a privately held US-based information technology company.
The second season of MLC will get underway on July 6 at 1 AM IST, with Seattle Orcas facing the reigning champions MI New York.
