The new edition of the Sri Lankan T20 tournament, Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2024 have signed a sponsorship agreement with the sports news and online gaming portal, D247 News.
As part of the agreement, the brand has become the official umpire partner of LPL 2024, which is set to begin tonight, i.e., July 1, and run until July 21. Moreover, the brand will also have its logo featured on the back of the umpire’s outfit.
D247 News is a well-known online gaming portal that provides consumers with high-quality games, from which they can win numerous prizes.
Season five, with 24 matches split across 21 days, will feature doubleheaders on the majority of days, with the exception of three days with only one match planned. Day bouts will begin at 3 PM IST, with evening competitions starting at 7:30 PM IST.
LPL 2024 will include prominent cricketers such as Glenn Phillips, Wanindu Hasaranga, Angelo Mathews, Mark Chapman, Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed, Shadab Khan, Agha Salman, Andre Fletcher, Fabian Allen, Mohammad Nabi, Mujeeb Ur Rehman, Noor Ahmad, Rilee Rossouw, and Reeza Hendricks.
The matches will be played in Colombo, Dambulla, and Kandy. The league phase will run from July 1 to 16, with the five units, Galle Titans (formerly known as Galle Gladiators), Jaffna Kings, Colombo Strikers, Dambulla Aura and B-Love Kandy (formerly known as Kandy Falcons, Kandy Warriors, and Kandy Tuskers), facing off each-other twice. The playoffs are scheduled to start in Colombo on July 18, with the finals set for July 21.
