German Football Association onboards Tipico as official partner of the DFB Pokal until 2026

Tipico will be able to use the emblems of the two cup events in its advertisements as part of the collaboration.

The German Football Association (DFB) has inked a sponsorship agreement with the German sportsbook firm, Tipico.

As part of the deal, the brand has been named official partner of the German knockout club competition, DFB-Pokal. Tipico will be able to use the emblems of the two cup events in its advertisements as part of the collaboration, which runs until June 30, 2026.

Dr Holger Blask, Chair of DFB, said, “With Tipico, we welcome another partner for the DFB Cup competitions for women and men. We are looking forward to new activations as part of the two traditional competitions with their finals in Cologne and Berlin. In partnership, we also want to continue and intensify our extensive efforts to deal responsibly with sports betting.”

Furthermore, the arrangement allows Tipico to utilise its logo throughout the DFB Cup matches for both men and women, including on advertising boards as well as throughout the competitions’ and DFB’s digital platforms.

In 2022, the DFB, which has constantly drawn in multiple collaborations through the DFB Pokal over the years, signed a significant long-term agreement with IMG Arena. This partnership enables IMG Arena to distribute DFB Pokal content through the firm’s sportsbook operators, increasing the competition’s reach and engagement.

Kajetan Strini-Brown, Director of Marketing Acquisition at Tipico, said, “With the DFB at our side, we now play in the same team as a co-partner of the DFB Cup and strengthen our role as the largest sports betting provider in German football. The DFB-Pokal, known for its dramatic games and surprising twists and turns, is also a perfect fit for Tipico, as we always strive to offer our customers an emotional, exciting and safe sports betting experience.”

Based in Malta, Tipico is a global supplier of casino games and sports betting. In addition to various gaming licences from the Malta Gaming Authority, Tipico also possesses a German sports betting concession from the Darmstadt Regional Council.

Recently, DBF has renewed its partnership with Volkswagen as premium partner and training kit sponsor for German national teams, prolonging the agreement until July 31, 2028. Moreover, the sporting body has also secured a sponsorship deal with Klarna, naming the brand as official partner of the Germany Men’s National Team.
