Disney+ Hotstar clocks 5.3cr peak concurrent viewership during IND-SA Final

This was significantly more than the India-Pakistan encounter, which reached 2.9 crore peak concurrent viewers on Disney+ Hotstar.

Disney+ Hotstar, the official digital streaming partner of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, has recorded a peak concurrent viewership of 5.3 crore during the India vs South Africa Final.

This was significantly more than the India-Pakistan encounter, which reached 2.9 crore peak concurrent viewers on the official streaming platform. Notably, the concurrent audience for the India-Australia Final in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 was 5.9 crore.

With such numbers expected right from the beginning, Disney Star had also secured over 19 sponsors for the tournament. This season of the T20 World Cup featured the most teams (20) and the most games (55).

Advertisers on Disney Star were provided tiered ad pricing. The asking price for the SD and HD feeds for all matches was INR 6.40 lakh. The 28 significant matches were priced at INR 11.25 lakh, however, the six India and knockout matchups, together with 12 prime-time fixtures, were priced at INR 13.80 lakh.

All India and knockout matches were valued at INR 26.50 lakhs. The broadcaster requested INR 4.50 lakh for the major non-Indian matches (prime time).

India vs South Africa Final:

India, under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, clinch second their second World T20 title by beating SA on Saturday. The last-over thrilling final saw Hardik Pandya defend 16 runs in the last over against David Miller and Keshav Maharaj.
