ZEE5 obtains exclusive media rights to air Calcutta Football League 2024

ZEE5 will also offer video-on-demand programming highlighting the finest goals and crucial moments from the CFL, allowing fans to catch up easily.

ZEE5, an Indian multimedia platform, has obtained digital media rights for the Calcutta Football League (CFL), a West Bengal-based football league organised by the Indian Football Association (IFA).

The streaming network aims to capture audiences with a common enthusiasm for football, namely targeting East Bengal and Mohun Bagan followers.

The Calcutta Football League began on June 27 and will continue until September 30, with ZEE5 showcasing 26 clubs divided into two groups for a total of 199 matches. The competition features teams including Mohun Bagan Super Giant (MBSG), East Bengal FC, and Mohammedan Sporting Club.

To appeal to a wide range of consumers, matches will be airing with Bangla and English commentary. ZEE5 will also offer video-on-demand (VOD) programming highlighting the finest goals and crucial moments, allowing fans to catch up easily.

The league was previously covered by regional networks such as Jalsha Movies, News 18 Bangla, Kolkata TV, and Sadhna News, among others.
