The former India cricketer and entrepreneur, Yuvraj Singh, has joined UN:BLOC, the new health-tech venture founded by Healthians creator Deepak Sahni, as an investor and founding team member, deepening a partnership that spans more than a decade.

Yuvraj’s association with Sahni dates back to the early days of Healthians, when YouWeCan Ventures became one of the diagnostics startup’s earliest investors. Sahni has previously credited the former India all-rounder for backing the company at a time when securing institutional investment proved challenging, laying the foundation for a relationship built on shared conviction and long-term trust.

The latest collaboration sees Yuvraj return as an early supporter of Sahni’s newest venture, UN, which was unveiled earlier this year following Sahni’s transition away from the day-to-day operations of Healthians. While the company has yet to reveal the finer details of its business model, it has positioned itself as a mission-driven healthcare venture focused on addressing the root causes of chronic health challenges rather than simply managing symptoms.

Speaking about the partnership, Deepak Sahni, Founder of UN:BLOC, said, “Yuvi backed me when I was building Healthians, at a time when very few people did. Having him back as an investor and as part of the founding team means a great deal to me personally. But more than that, it tells me the problem we’ve been quietly working on for months matters to people I deeply respect. We’re not trying to build something loud. We’re trying to change how a patient is seen, not as someone to be managed for life, but as someone who can be understood at the root. There is a lot of work happening behind the scenes, and a long road ahead. This gives us the belief to keep walking it.”

Yuvraj Singh added, “I’ve known Deepak for over twelve years, since the early days of Healthians. So when the idea of UN:BLOC was first shared with me by Deepak, I knew it had the potential to redefine how we think about health. The more I saw the scale of the problem it was trying to solve and the impact it could create, the more certain I became that I wanted to be involved from the very beginning and be part of a mission that can improve millions of lives.”

The appointment brings more than financial backing to the startup. Alongside his decorated cricket career, which includes playing a pivotal role in India’s 2007 ICC T20 World Cup and 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup triumphs, Yuvraj has established himself as an active startup investor through YouWeCan Ventures, supporting businesses across healthcare, consumer technology and digital innovation.

His decision to join UN as a founding team member reflects a broader trend of elite athletes taking on strategic roles within emerging companies, leveraging their networks, business acumen and long-term investment outlook beyond conventional endorsement partnerships.

Financial terms of the investment and the size of Yuvraj’s stake have not been disclosed. However, his addition is expected to strengthen UN’s leadership as the company prepares to formally unveil its platform and scale its vision of building a more preventive, personalised and root-cause-driven healthcare ecosystem.
