YuppTV secures media rights for Asia Cup 2022 in several territories

The championship is available on Yupp TV's streaming services in 70 countries.

A leading global OTT platform, YuppTV has secured the streaming rights for the upcoming mega continental cricket competition, Asia Cup 2022.

The tournament’s latest edition will take place after a stupefying four years due to the pandemic’s sabotage. The competition will begin with a duel between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan, followed by an age-old contest between India and Pakistan the following day.

The championship is available on YuppTV’s streaming services in 70 countries, including Hong Kong (non-exclusive), New Zealand, South East Asia and Japan (excluding Singapore), and Continental Europe, Malaysia, and Australia (non-exclusive).

The battle will last 14 days, beginning on August 27 and ending on September 11. There will be six teams competing for the title, including India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Hong Kong. The Asia Cup is regarded as the largest continental competition.

The games will be held in Dubai and Sharjah. Dubai is well-known for its famously bowling-friendly tracks, where the toss is an important factor in determining the contours of the competition. Sharjah, on the other hand, is a smaller ground that can be an absolute dream destination for batters in the first few games, but after that, it can turn out to be barren desert with the bowlers deciding the outcome.

Uday Reddy, Founder & CEO – YuppTV said, “We are inexplicably exhilarated to announce that YuppTV will be the official telecast partner for this year’s Asia Cup in 70+ countries and are looking forward to bring all the action from the tournament straight to the fans. The world of cricket has always been special to us, as it is for the people across the world. Needless to say, the 15th edition of the Asia Cup will be a thrilling affair, with fierce rivalries coming up early on in the tournament, such as the fixture between India and Pakistan falling on the second day of the tournament. This year’s telecast is truly going to be exceptional, and we can’t wait!”
