Delhi Capitals have deepened their commitment to sustainability in the Women’s Premier League by partnering with NO MORE, a Ministry of Textiles-certified upcycled fashion and lifestyle label, to create the team’s official backpacks for the 2026 season.
The collaboration marks a first-of-its-kind initiative in the WPL, with Delhi Capitals becoming the first franchise to introduce official team backpacks crafted entirely from legacy playing kits. By placing a circular design at the heart of the product, the partnership moves sustainability from a messaging exercise to a visible, functional outcome.
Known for producing one-of-one, handcrafted accessories, NO MORE has reimagined the Capitals backpack using jerseys worn by the women’s team in the previous season. Instead of being discarded, the kits have been carefully deconstructed and repurposed, with elements such as logos, flaps, panels, and pockets cut directly from the original fabric. Each backpack retains the visual identity of the team while ensuring that no two products are the same.
Sunil Gupta, CEO, Delhi Capitals, said, “The league has been a powerful catalyst in the growth of women’s cricket, helping build a stronger, more conscious sporting ecosystem. Partnerships like this coming to life reflect how the league is evolving beyond performance to purpose. Giving back in meaningful ways is central to our philosophy at Delhi Capitals, and this collaboration with NO MORE allows us to align sport with sustainability, innovation, and long-term responsibility.”
Praveen Premkumar, Founder, NO MORE, added, “We are proud to partner with Delhi Capitals to set a new benchmark for sustainable sports merchandise. Designed and handcrafted in India, these backpacks demonstrate that sustainability can be embedded, not added, to performance-driven products. Our goal is to show that fashion, sport, and conscious design can come together to create high-quality products that honour both the planet and the legacy of athletes.”
Adding to the design innovation, discarded car seat belts have been repurposed as haul loops for the backpacks. Selected for their strength and durability, materials originally engineered for safety have been adapted for everyday use, reinforcing the performance credentials of the product while extending the life of industrial waste.
NO MORE will oversee the entire design and manufacturing process, ensuring durability while preserving the visual and emotional value of the original jerseys. The backpacks will be used by the team during the WPL 2026 season and are expected to feature prominently in fan-facing activations and merchandise storytelling.
The initiative reflects a wider shift within the Women’s Premier League, as franchises increasingly embrace purpose-led partnerships to engage younger, socially aware audiences through innovation, authenticity, and environmental responsibility.
