Wolverhampton Wanderers FC inks partnership with StatsBomb

StatsBomb will be providing Wolves with its product labelled as StatsBomb360.

The Premier League outfit, Wolverhampton Wanderers FC has signed a multi-year partnership with the leading name in the football analytics field, StatsBomb.

Following this deal, the English club aims to utilize the deep data and innovative platforms of StatsBomb in its recruitment and performance analysis departments. 

StatsBomb will be providing Wolves with its product labelled as StatsBomb360, which is crafted at the forefront of innovation in football analytics. StatsBomb360 adds a snapshot of a player’s location as he is on the ball during a match.

While the product will further help Wolves to easily analyze its defensive shape, make available the passing lanes and decision making, ball receipts in space, play out line-breaking passes, and many more.

Adding to that Wolves will also have access to StatsBomb’s market-leading core data set and StatsBomb IQ platform. The performance data derived from that will include several unique metrics such as pressures by player and team, shot impact height, etc. While the StatsBomb IQ platform will further help in enhancing the club’s recruitment which will be making finding suitable players for the club easier.

Apart from Wolves, StatsBomb has collaborated with several other clubs, one of them is Everton FC who used StatsBomb’s analytics product to scout and analyze their potential transfer targets. While last week it announced a partnership with the Serie A club, Fiorentina. Apart from working beside the football clubs, StatsBomb has also teamed up with several football leagues like La LigaLigue 1, and Major League Soccer (MLS).

On the field, Wolves will be facing Brighton & Hove Albion in their next Premier League fixture, scheduled on December 16. They are currently sitting ninth in the league table, collecting 21 points from their last 16 fixtures.
