The Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL), Australia’s premier professional women’s basketball competition, has secured a major partnership with Latina Fresh, a leading provider of convenient meal solutions, ahead of the 2024-25 season.
This partnership marks an important milestone for both organisations, bringing together Latina Fresh’s commitment to supporting women’s sports with the WNBL’s mission to promote excellence in women’s basketball. Latina Fresh will serve as the league’s major partner throughout the season, underscoring the shared values between the two brands.
Christy Collier-Hill, WNBL’s General Manager, expressed her excitement about the collaboration and said, “We’ve had an incredible range of support from our partnership group, and it was amazing to have Latina™ Fresh at the WNBL’s official season launch to unveil our Major Partnership as part of the ceremonies.
“The energy and excitement for this season is real and we couldn’t be happier with the addition of Latina™ Fresh as a partner that shares the same vision and goals as the WNBL and its athletes.”
Latina Fresh’s Marketing Director for ANZ, Surini Perera, emphasised the importance of supporting women in sport and said, “We are thrilled to be a Major Partner of the WNBL and to support women’s sport at the elite level in Australia. The WNBL athletes are fantastic role models for leading healthy and active lives. Through this partnership, we are continuing to support women in sport and living our values by being certified as a top 50 Best Workplace for Women® in Australia.”
Charlotte Stevens, Latina Fresh’s Marketing Manager, highlighted, “Latina™ Fresh is a much loved and trusted Australian brand that we know people rely on for quick and easy dinner options, particularly on faster-paced weeknights. Supporting household and families’ busy schedules around activities and sports, like basketball, is what we do best.”
This major partnership sees Latina Fresh prominently featured across WNBL game-day platforms and digital touchpoints, along with a content series set to be released later in the season.
Latina Fresh, known for bringing vibrant, authentic Latin American flavours to Australian kitchens, focuses on fresh, high-quality ingredients and traditional cooking techniques. The brand’s dedication to promoting healthy eating aligns with the values of the WNBL, creating a natural fit for this exciting collaboration.
This announcement follows the WNBL’s recent major partnership with Ford Dealers Network, further strengthening the league’s commercial foundation as it prepares for an action-packed season.
The WNBL, founded in 1980, has been instrumental in developing world-class talent and serves as a critical pathway for players aiming to represent Australia at the international level. The 2024-25 season will tip off on October 30, with Geelong Supercats facing Townsville Fire in an eagerly anticipated opener.
