WNBA signs multi-year pact with Reebok as footwear supplier

The Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA), a women’s professional basketball league based in the United States, has developed a multi-year partnership with the American sports brand, Reebok.

With this deal, the global sportswear giant has become the league’s footwear supplier.

The brand and its players will strive to produce inspirational and entertaining content that connects fans to the game and its emerging stars, featuring Reebok athletes Angel Reese of the Chicago Sky, Lexie Brown of the Los Angeles Sparks, and others.

WNBA Chief Growth Officer Colie Edison, said, “The WNBA continues to grow with iconic brands, and we look forward to Reebok joining us in driving women’s basketball to new heights and inspiring the next generation . As we continue to capitalize on increased brand awareness, our work with Reebok is another step in bringing more fans to the game.”

In 2021, Reebok openly proclaimed its goal to recover its proper role in sports. Shortly after, Shaquille O’Neal and Allen Iverson were named executive executives of the brand’s Basketball division, and Reese, a rising basketball player and fashion icon, signed on.

Shaquille O’Neal, President of Reebok Basketball, said, “It’s an exciting time for Reebok, the WNBA, and the game of basketball overall. Reebok has always been committed to supporting the growth of the sport, and now with a strong plan, the right resources, and the welcoming arms of the WNBA, we’re ready to dive in headfirst with everything from product to players and more.”

This summer, Reese debuted her first official Reebok line, ‘Reebok by Angel,’ and led the presentation of Reebok’s latest performance basketball sneaker, the “Engine A.” In late October, Reese and Reebok announced a multi-year deal and a 2026 signature sneaker release (becoming Reese the second WNBA player to receive a Reebok signature shoe). Recently, in mid-November, Reese appeared in Reebok’s new global effort, “Sport is Everything,” with the brand’s broad lineup of emerging global athletes and artists.

“Reebok has been such an amazing partner and advocate for women in sport,” said Angel Reese. “As strong female athletes, we can use our platform to set an example for young players coming up in the sport. I’m happy to see the WNBA and Reebok supporting one another because I know that together we’re so much stronger and our reach is so much further.”

Reebok has made basketball sneakers for ladies since the 1980s. During the 1990s, the company sponsored several of the country’s greatest women’s collegiate basketball teams, and in 1997, superstar Rebecca Lobo received her own signature shoe. In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Reebok signed marketing and licensing agreements with the ABL, National Basketball Association (NBA), and WNBA, among other leagues, and sponsored the first-ever women’s high school all-American game.
