Blasters Sports paving its way into Volleyball

Blasters Sports Ventures Pvt Ltd (BSVPL) is all set to enter Volleyball after a very successful stint in football, making Kerala Blasters FC as one of the most loved and supported teams in the Indian Super League (ISL).

Blasters Sports, the parent company of the Kerala Blasters FC has signed a deal with Radnicki Belgrade and the club, which plays in the Serbian First Division, now renamed as Radnicki Blasters, with an aim to strengthen and boost the sport of Volleyball in the state of Kerala.

Serbia won the FIVB World League in 2016 and its women took the silver in Rio Olympics the same year. Serbia is ranked 11 in FIVB Men’s rankings, whereas India is placed at 78.

Through this partnership, Radnicki will provide the technical experience, infrastructure and also boost the morale of the budding talents in the state of Kerala. It’ll also provide an international level exposure to the players and will be beneficial to both the parties in the long run.

Over the past few years, it is learnt that Kerala has a passion towards Football and Sports. People and kids are willing to take up a sport and make their career out of it.

Volleyball as a sport is equally prominent amongst men and women in Kerala and with partnerships like these, it is a unique opportunity to identify talents and build a platform for their excellence.

Nikhil Bhardwaj, Kerala Blasters co-owner said, “Currently the focus is purely on exchange of knowledge and expertise with their coaches and a chance to send talent from Kerala to train with them. In time, hopefully our players, on merit, will be able to represent us there also. The aim moving forward will be seeing some of the Indian players play for the Serbian club.”
