Vodafone Idea with Nazara Technologies unveils Vi Games app

The new games app is accessible via the Vi default application, which is installed when user insert their SIM card.

Telecom provider Vodafone Idea (Vi) in partnership with Nazara Technologies has unveiled a new offering for gaming enthusiasts in India. Customers will soon be able to access a wide range of gaming content via the Vi games app.

The new games app is accessible through the Vi default application, which is installed when user insert their SIM card. Over 1200 Android and HTML5-based mobile games in ten popular genres will be available to users, including action, adventure, arcade, casual, fun, puzzle, racing, sports, education, and strategy.

Vi Games will be available as part of a subscription system, with titles divided into three categories: Platinum, Gold, and Free. The Gold category will have the largest library, with 30 games priced at Rs 50 for postpaid customers and Rs 56 for prepaid customers. Every month, post-paid users with plans of Rs 499 and above will receive five free games. For the first 30 days, all games in this tier will be free to download and play.

The Platinum games category will operate on a pay-per-download model, with a pass costing Rs 25 for postpaid users and Rs 26 for prepaid users. On its platform, the Vi games application will also host over 250 free titles.

Deeper penetration of smartphones and 4G availability has led to meteoric growth and adoption of gaming content making it a popular choice for fun and entertainment.”
