Volleyball World, the commercial arm of the sport’s FIVB governing body, has extended its association with Vodafone Türkiye, the regional arm of the multinational telecommunications company, for the Women’s Volleyball Nations League (VNL).

Under the agreement, the brand will be an official partner of the competition’s stop in the nation for the third year in a row. This year’s VNL will be hosted in Turkey’s capital, Ankara.

The relationship began in Antalya in 2024, when Vodafone’s 5G network was utilised to provide live match statistics for the Women’s VNL. Over the last three years, the relationship has grown through a number of technology-driven projects aimed at improving the fan experience. The project expands on Vodafone’s existing volleyball presence in Turkey, which began in 2023 through a relationship with the Turkish Volleyball Federation.

In 2026, Volleyball World and Vodafone will launch a new fan engagement initiative at Ankara’s Women’s VNL, utilising 5G technology.

Vodafone’s 5G infrastructure has enabled a number of technical advances during the Women’s VNL games in Turkey, including as the broadcasting of real-time match data to broadcast audiences and the use of Bolt6 challenge systems in the arena.

Oliver Clarke, chief partnerships officer at Volleyball World, said, “Over the past three years, Vodafone has been an exceptional partner in helping us explore how technology can enhance the volleyball experience for fans around the world. What started as an exciting innovation project in 2024 has evolved into one of the most forward-thinking technology partnerships in our sport. With each year, we have challenged ourselves to go further, and the Women’s VNL Ankara will deliver our most ambitious activation yet. We are continuing to push the boundaries of what is possible and creating new ways for fans to experience and engage with volleyball.”

In April, Amazon extended and expanded its association with the VNL for the 2026 season, moving from event partner in 2025 to title sponsor of the VNL stop in Turkey.
