RISE Worldwide has achieved a complete sell-out of the England and Wales Cricket Board‘s (ECB) virtual advertising inventory for India’s white-ball tour of England, highlighting the growing commercial value of digitally targeted sponsorship assets around one of international cricket’s most lucrative bilateral rivalries.
The Reliance Industries-owned sports marketing agency successfully commercialised the entire inventory available for the Indian market across the five-match T20I series and three-match ODI series. The inventory attracted strong demand from leading Indian brands, with Hero MotoCorp, MakeMyTrip, CP PLUS, Kingfisher, and Groww confirmed as virtual advertising partners.
In line with the ECB’s premium commercial strategy, RISE adopted a curated approach to brand partnerships, onboarding advertisers that align with the stature of England’s marquee contests against India. The complete sell-out reflects the increasing confidence brands have in virtual advertising as a premium platform to engage millions of Indian viewers through market-specific brand integrations during live broadcasts.
Nikhil Bardia, Head of RISE Worldwide, said, “India’s tour of England remains one of the most anticipated contests in the international cricket calendar, attracting passionate fans and sustained interest from advertisers. Achieving a complete sell-out of the virtual inventory reflects both the strength of this property and the growing confidence brands have in virtual advertising as a premium engagement platform. Our primary objective is to maximise the commercial opportunity for our partners, while building a portfolio of reputed Indian brands that complements the ECB’s premium positioning. This approach enables us to deliver meaningful value for the rights holder and advertisers alike, while enhancing the viewing experience through relevant, contextual brand integrations.”
Kate Spring, Head of Commercial Operations, England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), added, “India continues to be one of the most significant audiences for cricket globally, and creating meaningful commercial opportunities for brands in this market remains a key priority for us. Our partnership with RISE Worldwide has enabled us to connect with a strong portfolio of leading Indian advertisers that reflect the premium nature of England cricket and our marquee international fixtures. As the commercial landscape continues to evolve, and with the invaluable support of our broadcast partners, Sky Sports in the UK and Sony in India, solutions such as virtual advertising play an important role in delivering greater relevance for brands while preserving the integrity of the viewing experience for fans.”
The commercial momentum surrounding the series is being matched by anticipation on the field. India’s return to ODI cricket sees veterans Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli back in national colours, providing an immediate boost to one of the sport’s biggest commercial attractions. Jasprit Bumrah, KL Rahul and captain Shubman Gill also return as India begin preparations for the 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, while England will look to carry the confidence gained from their T20I series victory into the 50-over format.
The three-match ODI series gets underway at Edgbaston in Birmingham from today before moving to Sophia Gardens in Cardiff on July 16 and concluding at Lord’s on July 19. With two of cricket’s biggest global brands renewing their rivalry, the combination of elite competition, star power and massive broadcast audiences has once again reinforced the series’ status as a premium commercial property for sponsors and rights holders alike.
