The Vietnamese carrier, Vietjet, has strengthened its investment in regional sports by becoming the official airline partner of the ASEAN United FC competitions, a multi-tournament agreement that reinforces the airline’s ambition to connect Southeast Asia through both aviation and football.

The partnership, secured by global sports marketing agency SPORTFIVE, covers the ASEAN Football Federation‘s (AFF) four flagship competitions, the ASEAN Hyundai Cup, ASEAN Club Championship Shopee Cup, ASEAN Women’s MSIG Cup and ASEAN U-23 Championship. As the AFF’s exclusive commercial partner, SPORTFIVE continues to expand the commercial platform surrounding the region’s premier international football properties.

Under the agreement, Vietjet will activate its brand across all four tournaments, with the partnership commencing ahead of the ASEAN Hyundai Cup 2026. The airline will leverage the competitions to deepen fan engagement while promoting regional connectivity through its network of more than 135 routes spanning Southeast Asia, Australia, India, China, Japan, South Korea and Kazakhstan, with expansion into Europe also planned.

To Viet Thang, Vietjet Standing Vice President, said, “Vietjet has always been committed to supporting meaningful sporting events around the world, with the aim of connecting people and creating positive value for communities. Our partnership with ASEAN United FC competitions reaffirms Vietjet’s commitment to connecting not only destinations but also people, cultures, and shared values across communities. Through aviation and sports, Vietjet aims to foster regional connectivity, showcase Southeast Asia to the world, and create greater opportunities for sustainable development.”

Major General Khiev Sameth, President, ASEAN Football Federation, added, “On behalf of the ASEAN Football Federation, I am delighted to welcome Vietjet to the ASEAN football family. As one of the region’s leading airlines, Vietjet shares our belief in the power of connectivity to unite people and strengthen communities.

“With connectivity at the heart of its business, Vietjet is a natural partner for the ASEAN United FC events. Together, we look forward to embarking on a shared journey of unity and growth, bringing Member Associations, clubs, fans and communities across ASEAN even closer together through the power of football.”

Seamus O’Brien, President and Chairman of the Board, SPORTFIVE Asia, shared, “It’s a pleasure to welcome Vietjet, an award-winning airline, on board the growing ASEAN United FC family of Official Partners.  Vietjet’s partnership with the region’s premier events – the ASEAN Hyundai Cup™, ASEAN Club Championship Shopee Cup™, ASEAN Women’s MSIG Cup™ and ASEAN U-23 Championship™ supports its emergence as a trusted carrier in Southeast Asia as it further strengthens customer affinity and connectivity across the region’s fast-growing travel destinations.”
