Sports18 Khel, Viacom18‘s Free-To-Air (FTA) Hindi channel, has been made available on Prasar Bharati’s DTH service DD FreeDish on April 25, 2022. The news comes soon after the debut of Sports18, the company’s pay-TV channel.
Fans will be able to watch their favourite sports in Hindi, including highlights from the 2021-22 NBA season, the Abu Dhabi T10 League, the Road Safety World Series, the Santosh Trophy, and other highlights from Indian sports. Fans will also be able to watch premier programs such as worldwide sports news, magazines, and highlight shows on the channel.
“Viacom18 secured a slot on DD FreeDish to make sports content easily accessible and expand the consumption of the genre across a wider audience,” said, a Viacom18 Sports spokesperson. “Sports18 Khel will offer content relevant to the FTA subscribers across range of sports in Hindi. This is also an opportunity to funnel a new audience to the pay-TV segment.”
Sports18 Khel will be aired on DD FreeDish channel #25. Meanwhile, Sports18 SD may be found on Tata Play channel #488, Airtel Digital TV channel #293, JioTV + channel #262, and Sports18 HD on JioTV + channel #261. By downloading Viacom18’s premium video-on-demand platform Voot (iOS & Android) and JioTV (iOS & Android), viewers can continue to watch their favourite sports.
