Viacom 18 showcases intriguing provisions for IPL to marketers and fans on JioCinema CricStream

A sneak peeks of the innovations and new initiatives available on JioCinema was bifurcated into different zones for brands and industry leaders.

The JioCinema CricStream Showcase, launched by Viacom18, the Tata Indian Premier League’s (IPL) digital rights holder, provides viewers and sponsors a preview of what to expect from the forthcoming campaign.

A sneak peeks of the innovations and new initiatives available on JioCinema for both advertisers and users was bifurcated into different zones for brands and industry leaders.

The network said in a statement, “Content consumption in India is seeing a tectonic shift towards digital platforms as consumers are increasingly embracing the convenience and improved viewing experience on offer. It is not just a shift in consumer behaviour but for brands, digital is fast becoming a key channel for customer acquisition, engagement, conversion, and retention. The digital growth narrative is further fortified by the ever-increasing adoption of Connected TV (CTV). A significant number of HD homes are in the process of moving to CTV with the flexibility of the medium, ease of search options, and content variety. The current base of 750+mn internet users and growing penetration of 5G in India will play a crucial role in showing Tata IPL anywhere, anytime.”

The Viacom18 Spokesperson, said, “Our vision for this season’s Tata Indian Premier League on JioCinema is to make it the world’s biggest sporting spectacle. Our proposition is seeded in efforts to remove barriers for viewers such as accessibility, affordability, and language to scale up the league’s impact for advertisers and consumers alike. The JioCinema CricStream Showcase is an exhibit of how we aim to move the needle and achieve this. The exhibition is a curtain-raiser to the spectacular viewing experience consumers will enjoy during the Tata IPL and the endless opportunities that a brand and advertiser will be able to seize on our platform.”

JioCinema’s top offerings for users during the Tata IPL 2023 included a 4K feed, multi-language and multi-cam presentations, participation through a stats pack, and a Play Along feature. Also, a section specifically devoted to offline activations is planned to interact with the cricket-loving populations in the most remote areas of the nation.

The Jio Immersive Zone, which offers everyone a taste of viewing the Tata IPL through a 360-degree VR stream utilising JioDive, is the most innovative offering.

JioCinema features a special zone for companies and marketers where they can see a new feature called “Brands You Love,” which will give them more exposure even after their advertisement is shown. Brands will be able to see all the ad resources available to use on JioCinema during the Tata IPL in the same zone. Furthermore, advertisers will have the option to choose their budget through the gamified JioCinema Media Planner, which will also immediately highlight the advantages of choosing digital.

The opening match of the TATA Indian Premier League’s 2023 campaign will take place on March 31 at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium between the defending champion Gujarat Titans (GT) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK). JioCinema will provide free coverage of IPL 2023.
