VfL Wolfsburg strike sponsorship alliance with Supponor

Supponor has formed a long-term strategic alliance for the introduction and deployment of virtual advertising.

The Bundesliga team, VfL Wolfsburg have inked a new sponsorship association with the world’s leading provider of virtual advertising technologies, Supponor.

The London-based company has formed a long-term strategic alliance for the introduction and deployment of virtual advertising.

The new collaboration aims to enhance and broaden the Greens and Whites’ international sponsorship activities. VfL can presumably duplicate the advertising aptitudes of the two rows of LED perimeter boards in the domestic Volkswagen Arena using the software-based technology Supponor AIR, display advertising tailored to the intended market, and thus expand the national perimeter boards for the international market.

Furthermore, by avoiding double TV production at the same time, CO2 emissions from production, transportation, and logistics can be whittled down, resulting in another significant contribution to the self-imposed “Race-to-Zero” objective.

VfL Managing Director, Michael Meeske, said, “The partnership with Supponor is of particular importance to us, as it not only provides significant support for our international activities, but also underscores our claim to innovation.”

James B. Gambrell, CEO of Supponor, commented, “We are delighted to have won one of the pioneers in international marketing as a strategic partner in VfL Wolfsburg. Together we are taking the next step with the use of our completely software-based technology.

Supponor AIR creates new opportunities for the club and its partners to be able to reach national and international fans in an even more targeted manner with significantly less effort. The result is more flexible and efficient marketing options with a significantly reduced CO2 footprint at the same time.”

On the field, VfL Wolfsburg have played two games and netted just one point yet. They next go against FC Schalke 04 on August 20.
