The University of Birmingham has signed up as the sponsor for the 2022 Commonwealth Games (CWG) that are set to take place in Birmingham. The University will become hosts for Hockey and Squash events, as well as the principal campus village for the duration of the Games.
The new partnership is the most comprehensive agreement in the history of Commonwealth Games. The University holds additional promotional opportunities as Official partners of the ceremonial baton relay that will travel through Commonwealth nations and territories in the run-up to the Games.
It’ll also offer a wide range of volunteering opportunities for the students and staff which will surely enhance their exposure to an international sporting event.
Other companies who’ve agreed for sponsorship deals with CWG 20222 include Recruitment agency – GI Group, Law firm – Gowling WLG, and Swiss luxury watchmaker – Longines. Kukri sports have also renewed their deal as the Official kit supplier of Team England for the third consecutive Commonwealth Games cycle in May.
Sports production and media company, Sunset+Vine bagged the broadcasting rights for the CWG 2022 edition, a deal which could be extended to include the 2026 and 2030 editions of the multi-sport event.
