United Group’s Novasport acquires Premier League rights for six seasons

The Premier League offered up to 233 live matches available in markets of Europe in the 2019-22 cycle.

United Group’s subsidiary Nova has acquired rights to the Premier League for the next six seasons. The deal will see Novasports broadcast Premier League from August 2022 until 2028. It is going to replace its rival Cosmote, which acquired the rights in a three-year deal from 2019-20 to 2021-22.

From next season onwards, subscribers of the Novasports will experience Premier League with the highest quality content in Greece. The network is going to telecast this event on nine different channels.

Novasports in total is offering around 3,000 matches across Europe with top clubs from the Super League Greece Interwetten and top European football leagues La Liga, SantanderBundesligaLigue 1. The channel is also offering the major basketball competitions, EuroLeague EuroCup, FIBA, NCAA and topmost actions in tennis, volleyball, golf and motorsports.

Nova has stated with the introduction of the Eon platform, the subscribers of Novasports will now have the chance to witness their favourite sports content anywhere, anytime, on any device. This will be offered with some innovative features as the seven-day catch-up and EON Sports Mode that will give live stats on selected matches.

The Premier League offered up to 233 live matches available in markets of Europe in the 2019-22 cycle, while it sold a total of 380 live matches outside of Europe.

As for the fans of the Premier League, the competition resumes today after the Champions League midweek fixtures. Arsenal to take on New Castle in what it’s going to be a tricky situation for the club from London.
