UniCredit aces new partnership as Davis Cup banking partner

UniCredit's innovative online banking platform, buddy, will take centre stage at Davis Cup ties and events throughout the partnership.

UniCredit, the financial giant, stepped onto the court as the official banking partner of the prestigious Davis Cup, the world’s premier men’s international tennis team event.

This multi-year deal, running until 2026, has united two powerhouses that share a dedication to excellence and teamwork.

UniCredit’s innovative online banking platform, buddy, will take centre stage at the World Cup of men’s tennis ties and events throughout the partnership. This strategic alliance perfectly complements buddy’s ongoing launch and promotion, aiming to revolutionize the banking experience with its user-friendly online approach.

Andrea Orcel, UniCredit Group CEO and Head of Italy, said, “We are very proud that our innovative and digital brand buddy, representing a new way of banking, is the Official Banking Partner of the Davis Cup. The tournament and its participants embody the pursuit of excellence, and above all, demonstrate the critical importance of teamwork. The Davis Cup stands out in the tennis world by showcasing the power of team success over solo accomplishments – values that sit firmly at the centre of UniCredit.”

The International Tennis Federation (ITF) President, David Haggerty, expressed his enthusiasm regarding the new partnership. “It is a pleasure to welcome the prestigious brand UniCredit to the Davis Cup family of partners. We thank them for their confidence in our competition and are proud to help them spread awareness of their products. This partnership adds the Italian banking group to a prestigious roster of men’s International tennis championship sponsors like Dunlop, Joma, Quironsalud, Socios, and Stake, further solidifying the competition’s global impact and influence.

Headquartered in Milan, Italy, UniCredit is a leading European commercial bank. With a strong presence in Italy, Germany, and Central and Eastern Europe, the entity serves over 15 million customers. The financial institution offers a comprehensive suite of financial products and services, catering to individuals, businesses, and institutions.
