Unacademy signs MS Dhoni as the new brand ambassador

Dhoni has signed a two-year contract with the Edu-tech company.

The Bengaluru-based online education technology company, Unacademy has signed former Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni as its new Brand Ambassador.

Sources suggest Dhoni has signed a two-year contract with the Edu-tech company and will soon shoot a campaign with them.

Education technology is one of the fastest-growing sectors in India.

Another Indian Edu-tech firm Byju’s has recently signed an agreement to become the official sponsor of the Indian cricket team and it was only just a matter of time that other educational technology companies follow the same path. Unacademy was also the official sponsor of the Road Safety World Series cricket tournament.

Unacademy was also one of the official partners of the IPL 2020 and produced 15-second short clips, complemented by old IPL footage, which created an impression of the match being resumed after the commercial breaks. The commentators seemingly in the middle of match commentary also use to talk about Uncademy’s offerings.

Sachin Tendulkar became one of the first celebrity endorsers for Unacademy earlier this year and also picked up a strategic stake in the Edu-tech company. During this time, Unacademy launched a campaign with the master blaster that turned out to be a huge success.

They launched a campaign titled ‘The Greatest Lesson’ which featured a montage of some key moments – both failure and successes – of the master blaster’s career. The idea is to infuse the thought among the youth that failures are only stepping stones to success. The campaign has received several awards and is among the most-watched brand campaigns of 2021.
