The apex body of football in Europe, the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has announced an exclusive betting data rights agreement extension with Sportradar, a global leader in sports betting and data solutions.
The new multi-year agreement will be broadened to include the non-exclusive rights to share data with non-betting media.
Furthermore, the arrangement grants Sportradar access to some sophisticated tracking capabilities. This data will improve Sportradar’s AI products and services, allowing the firm to provide technology solutions to its customers.
The arrangement applies to all UEFA club and national team events, such as the UEFA Champions League (UCL), UEFA Super Cup, UEFA Europa League (UEL), UEFA Conference League (UECL), UEFA Women’s Champions League, Women’s Euro 2025, European qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup 2026 and UEFA EURO 2028, the UEFA Nations League, the 2025 and 2027 European Under-21 Championships, and international friendlies.
The new agreement also includes co-exclusive media rights with UEFA, the first time the latter has done it. Moreover, UEFA and Sportradar will also prolong their 15-year integrity cooperation.
To support UEFA’s Anti Match-Fixing Unit, the collaboration comprises specialised intelligence and investigation resources, bet monitoring, and education services to help prevent, identify, and investigate match-fixing.
Guy-Laurent Epstein, UEFA Marketing Director, said, “Three years ago we embarked on a journey with Sportradar to tap into the value of match data for betting purposes. Sportradar brings to the table a wealth of experience in this field and we are delighted to be continuing this successful partnership for the next three years.”
Carsten Koerl, Sportradar Chief Executive, said, “We are thrilled to expand our partnership with UEFA, offering our clients and soccer fans worldwide unparalleled engagement and value through cutting-edge solutions and comprehensive data coverage. This agreement supports our strategic focus on selectively investing in long-term rights across key global sports, enabling ongoing innovation and enhancement of our offerings.”
