UEFA EURO 2024 Final Spain vs England: Spain hold their nerves in an edge of a seat Euro final

La Roja had earlier won the event in 1964, 2008, and 2012, and they were tied with Germany as the only three-time winners.

Spain have won their fourth European football championship, defeating England in the UEFA EURO 2024 final in Berlin, courtesy of an 86th-minute goal from Mikel Oyarzabal.

To begin with, Nico Williams scored Spain’s first goal less than two minutes into the second half, following a lacklustre first 45 minutes. Spain appeared to be the superior team throughout the game, but England’s Cole Palmer netted the tying goal in the 73rd minute.

Oyarzabal appeared to be offside, but the Spanish attacker was ruled in a legal position for his career-defining goal.

Not one or two. But three chances went amiss for England, who had many heading opportunities from the last corner. However, owing to Dani Olmo and Spain’s defence, the England team was unable to produce an equaliser.

Spain clinched all seven matches at Euro 2024, earning the championship and capping one of the most comprehensive international event performances in history. La Roja had earlier won the event in 1964, 2008, and 2012, and they were tied with Germany as the only three-time winners.

This is England’s second straight runner-up result, following their loss to Italy in the EURO 2020 final. Notably, the nation has never won a European title.
