UEFA brings in Lidl as official partner of Women’s Euro 2025

The two entities have collaborated on similar events, with Lidl participating in last summer's European Championships as well as this season's UEFA club championships.

The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has announced a new partnership with the German retail store entity, Lidl, for the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025.

According to the deal, Lidl has been named as the official partner for the largest women’s Euro in history, which is set to take place in Switzerland in July 2025.

The two entities have regularly collaborated on similar events, with the German retailer participating in last summer’s European Championships as well as this season’s UEFA club championships, such as the Europa League and Conference League.

Lidl’s engagement exemplifies the growing trend of corporate collaborations that contribute to social change by raising attention and investment in women’s sport, with the partnership intending to emphasise the necessity of promoting equality in sport.

Moreover, fans can also expect unique tournament-related promotions, prizes, and activities as Lidl seeks to enhance the joy of women’s football next summer. The 2025 tournament is predicted to set new highs for viewership, attendance, and worldwide participation.

Guy-Laurent Epstein, UEFA Marketing Director, said, “As one of Europe’s leading food retailers, Lidl is an ideal partner to help us bring the energy and excitement of UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 to an even broader audience. We are delighted to build on our successful partnership with Lidl from UEFA EURO 2024 into UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 so we can continue to harness the power of football to inspire healthy lifestyles and the next generation of women’s football.”

Jens Thiemer, Chief Customer Officer at Lidl International, said, “We’re thrilled to take our love for women’s sport to the next level as the Official Partner of UEFA Women’s EURO 2025. This partnership is a natural step forward, building on our proud history of teaming up with major sports organisations for both women’s and men’s sport and following the success of the UEFA EURO 2024. Together, we’re championing the power of sport to bring people together and inspire communities across Europe.

“As a company, we are closely connected to Europe and excited that 14 of the over 30 countries in which Lidl is present will participate in this tournament.”

Recently, the brand also forged ties with the Germany-based poultry producer, WIESENHOF.
