U Mumba, Karbonn strike a sponsorship deal

U Mumba will be advertising the Karbonn logo by placing it behind the back of the player jersey.

The Pro Kabaddi League outfit, U Mumba has partnered up with the Indian mobile phone and television manufacturing company, Karbonn, ahead of the PKL season eight. Following this association, Karbonn is tagged with the title of the associate sponsor of the Mumbai-based PKL franchise. Both the entities made the announcement through their official Twitter handle.

U Mumba will be advertising the Karbonn logo by placing it behind the back of the player jersey in the upcoming PKL season eight. Apart from roping in Karbonn as a sponsor, U Mumba has signed a deal with the Japanese audio and video equipment manufacturer, Sansui, labelling it as the main sponsor of the side.

U Mumba is one of the successful teams in the Pro Kabaddi League and has been associated with the league since 2014. The Mumbai-based franchise has till now lifted the trophy once back in the second season as they defeated Bengaluru Bulls in the finals. While out of the seven seasons played, U Mumba has finished as a runner-up thrice.

Karbonn was initially a smartphone manufacturing company that was founded back in 2009 but slowly climbed on to spread its business in the TV manufacturing industry. It is a joint venture between United Telelinks Ltd, a Bangalore-based firm, and Jaina Marketing Pvt Ltd. While Karbonn has its headquarter situated in New Delhi, with its business spreading into various countries like Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and some others.

U Mumba will be commencing their upcoming season against Bengaluru Bulls, which is also the opening fixture of the new season, scheduled on December 22 at 7:30 PM IST. The Kabaddi fans can watch the live-action of PKL on the Star Sports Network, while they can also stream on Disney+Hotstar.
