Tottenham Hotspur and Sevilla agree on a swap deal between Erik Lamela and Bryan Gil

Gil has a €50 million release clause but Sevilla is ready for the €25 million offer as another player is also included in this deal. Lamela will sign a three-year contract with Sevilla until 2024.

Tottenham Hotspur and Sevilla have reached a principle agreement for a swap deal between Erik Lamela and Bryan Gil. This means that Lamela will move to the Spanish side Sevilla and Spurs will have the Spanish wonder-kid Bryan Gil for his services at the club. The agreement also includes Spurs paying €25 million-plus performance-related add-ons.

This deal has come out to be a shocker as it was highly unlikely. Lamela will be parting ways with Tottenham Hotspur after 8 years as he was signed by the North London based club in 2013. The Argentine has not made a huge impact ever since coming to England and has made 177 appearances for the club and scoring 17 goals. Lamela has also been struggling with injuries for a brief period.

Meanwhile, 19-year-old Bryan Gil is one of the most promising prospects in Spain right now and Spurs new Director of Football Fabio Paratici is delighted to have the young Spaniard to the club. Gil spent last season on loan at Eibar where he scored four goals and registered three assists in La Liga. The winger is currently a part of the Spanish National Team at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Gil has a €50 million release clause but Sevilla is ready for the €25 million offer as another player is also included in this deal. Lamela will sign a three-year contract with Sevilla until 2024.

Spurs have also roped in Italian side Atalanta BC goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini on a loan deal till 2022 and an option to buy in 2023 for € 15 million.
