Tipico and Bundesliga sign long-term renewal

The development has enabled Tipico to remain an official partner of Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga.

The German sportsbook firm, Tipico has extended its partnership with the top two divisions of German football, Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga.

The development has enabled Tipico to remain an official partner of the top tiers of Germany’s football spectrum.

Tipico and DFL have been in association since 2018 and the extension till the end of the 2028/29 edition took the partnership beyond a decade.

Tobias Thöne, Director of Commercial Partnerships at Bundesliga International GmbH, said, “We’re thrilled to extend this long-standing collaboration built on mutual trust.

“Over the years, Tipico has proven itself as a highly professional and reliable partner with a deep passion for football.”

Kajetan Strini-Brown, Director of Sports Brand at Tipico, said, “We’re incredibly proud to continue our partnership with the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga! German football is at the heart of what we do, and that passion has always been deeply embedded in our DNA as a company.

“This extension is a key part of our strategic partnerships, which also include the DFB-Pokal, another major German football brand. Sponsorship, and the visibility it brings, plays an important role in guiding customers to the legal market.”

Across Europe, in recent years, sports betting sponsorship has been undergoing public and political pressure. Neighbouring nations of Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium are implementing bans on betting companies that sponsor football clubs. In the UK, as per the Code of Conduct on sports sponsorships’ function, English top-flight football will diminish front-of-shirt

As per the pact, Tipico can prolong the usage of the logos of both the competitions and championship trophies along with the right to advertise through media contracts and digital platforms.

In June 2024, DFB onboarded Tipico as the official partner of the DFB Pokal until 2026.
